November 27 sunny Saturday

Helena invite me to go ice skating at Olympic stadium with her "group", unfortunately the boys Pato and Jojo (spelling) isn't in Nanjing so it's only me and six girls. I was thinking not to join them but what a hell it's just six girls=). They where from Korea, Belgium, Germany, Italy and the States. I had a fun time with them and Helena and her friends took good care of me. After we finished our supper the girls was going out to a prom and have a ladies night so I went to meet Pelle and his company. He was with Lucy, Kate and Linnea who is also from Sweden.
We sat in a mexican pub/bar and talked and drink some cocktails. There was a time when it was only me, Pelle and Linnea there and it was a long time ago I talked so much Swedish. We went to castle and after some minutes Helena, Maggie and Lorena joined us. The other girls was to tired to go so it was only them. Later on Emelie and Ellinor passed so I told them to join us. So we was 7 girls and 2 guys.
When we all danced in a circle on the dancefloor Lucy really surprised me by came up to me from the opposite side and dance with me. I was surprised because usually chinese girls who don't go to club so often isn't that brave.
There's one thing I did wrong that night. I played softball with Ellinor and Emelie and forgot to be with Helena, Maggie and Lorena so when they left I was really disappointed of myself. Helena took care of me so well but I couldn't do the same to her. So Trieu Remember to take care of your friends. Improve!

November 26 cloudy Friday

Spent my morning and afternoon with Pelle and to see his exhibition. He designed a small landscape and got choose to build it. In his group it's Yhurri and Lucy. I think his designed was one of the best. The other design was to much color or didn't really have a theme. Less is more. They came second place in the competition maybe they didn't win because their works looks expensive. The Company Pelle works for, build the exhibition for him that's why he manage to make it looks so professional. The judges ask them how much it has cost to build the exhibition.
Had dinner with Pelle, Lucy, Bobby, Lina and Yhurri. Right after that, I meet Samantha and we went to San Pai Lu for some BBQ food and beer. Samantha took me to a massage place and it was so so. During the massage Samantha told me that she saw the man that gave her massage have a gun on him, the thing is that people in the room next to us starts arguing and the man went over to check what's happening, at that time I was prepared to hear a gunshot. So freaking scary. After I drop of Samantha I went to 1912 to meet Nadia. I planned to stay there for 30 min but end up stay there to 3 am. We was at soho bar but I didn't enjoy the wannabe korean artist there so we went to Mazzo 2. I was invited to the table with sofa and was served remy martin. I drank with a manager (mr lu) and his brother which I don't remember the name.

I think me and Katy eat every 2 hours this thanksgiving day. Our school cafeteria, honeymoon dessert, street food and 85 cent.

November 24 Cloudy Wednesday

Had a breakdown last night. I was so sad because of my life. Today after class I went out to meet Samantha. She's a native here in Nanjing and she's a boss. Samantha running a store in Fashion lady so I asked her some question about it and just hang out with her. I'm up and running now, feeling better after my breakdown.

My friends told me that Nanjing Art Scool maybe has alot of beautiful girls and their clothes style is good. They told me that I fit there. So I had a quick visit to the art school. I think I choosed the wrong time, I think everyone had classes because there was a few people around the school.
Freaking shit, I have spent half of my day try to finish my freaking homework but I can't. Maybe this isn't my major, maybe I should move on and do something else. So frustrated right now that I even want to cry. Buhu. And another things is I miss my lovely bed

November 22 sunny Monday

Followed Wendy to a model company in Xin Jie Kou, and it seems that they liked her. So they will take some picture on her on wednesday. It was a experience to see how it works. She want me to company her when they taking photos but I don't know if I should go. Had a quick visit in Samanthas store in fashion lady. The name of the store is of course Samantha.
Jess and I watch a concert in the sports hall in our school. Everything concert is almost the same I think. Until Xuhui start singing. I haven't talked to her for weeks and didn't know that she's going to have a performance. When she start singing I got goosebumps and at that time I really want to buy flowers to her to give it to her on stage, but I didn't have time to go away. After the concert me and Jess went to buy flowers to Xuhui and after 11 pm I gave it to her thru the window. Jess told me she was really happy and grateful. I'm glad that I didn't miss that performance.

Forgot to say that I bought a tripod for my camera, so now I can take some "todays outfit" without someones help.

November 21 sunny Sunday

Got a message from Ka Thanh at 4 am morning and he want me to call him through facetime. I woke up called him and he was with the others from BTX at Jinns house. They where celebrating Jinns birthday. I joined them and drank with them and talked to some. They had really fun and I miss those days with my friends. I could see in some of the guys that they really missed to gather around and have fun together. They where so drunk and wild and I could enjoy and watch them have fun. Miss you guys.

At the evening I had supper with Pelle and Jess(Jessica), we also went to see Pelles exhibition. I will talk about it later on another post. After supper me and Jess went to the supermarket and had fun. Felt like I have live in China for a long time, and I enjoyed to be with Jess again.

Had a chit chat with Elisabeth and her classmates, Peipei, Janet and Evans in Freedom bar or like Elisabeth called it. Fring. There was a competition for post graduate students so we watch it for awhile. They played the music "Endless love - Jackie Chan" so beautiful. Meet my teacher there with his girlfriend, they looked so cute together. I have so many videos I want to share to you guys but I can't because I don't have the premission to upload anything on my webserver.

Katy helped me with the application to get another entry to China. Me and Pelle plan to go to Hong Kong. The price for two way ticket from Shanghai is about 900 RMB.
Lost a basketball bet to Katy so I have to go back to Nanjing 2014. Olympic game will be hold in Nanjing 2014 that's why Katy choose this date. It has been great weather these last days. Blazer weather=)

I went to mazzo 2 to celebrate Freddies birthday. Pelle was also there, he asked me in the last minute if he could join me. Meet up with Nadia there and she always say she want to see me, but when I'm with her she makes me sad. She's always sad and use her phone all the time. That bothers me. So I couldn't be the nice guy anymore. I told her either you have fun or you can go home. I know it sounds cruel but she was suppose to go home at midnight. But she didn't say anything. I was with her more than I was with Pelle and the birthday kid Freddie. That said.
I bought a scarf for Freddie.
In my surprise the security guard who I dance with the second time I was in Mazzo 2 remember me. He was so happy to see me=)
I also had a nail treatment because I think my nails is really ugly, but after the treatment my nails looks guuuuuuud=) and no I didn't use the nail polish

Today is "fuck-you-man" birthday. It has been a year since he made his alias famous=). Sorry that I couldn't be there buddy, but it doesn't means that I'm not going to party. Because today is also Freddies birthday and he has invite me to go with him and his close friends to Mazzo 2 to celebrate. I'll see if I have the energy to go there.

Right now I write this in real time. Feel so good that I finally catch up with the blog. It's 4 pm and I haven't eat anything because I want to finish the blog first. Now I have to go out and find something to eat and some clothes for tonight.

Jinn I hope you got some : "Sex for breakfast - Christina aguilera", "Birthday sex - Jeremiah" and some "Bed rock - Lil Wayne". Have a freaking good day man!

Today class we talked about how to exmination me and I felt that there's not so much time left here in China. I planned to celebrate my birthday here in Nanjing but in January 15 or 16 all the students will have spring holiday and it means there's no students in the univeristy because everyone have to leave school and to go home. So I have to reschedule my birthday. Should I go back home and have a big party in Sweden?

Haven't seen Jessica for awhile so I made free time to her. Via also joined us. First we went to play some video games and Jess was really pumped up and want to win a doll for Via. After that we had dinner at "Curry Onion". Curry Onion is a really bad restaurant. The food didn't taste anything and the waitress is inexperience, but the place is really popular and sometimes you have to wait in the queue to eat there.

At the end of the day I couldn't stand with Via anymore so we had a fight.

Spent whole afternoon on the book store with Katy. She was studying English meanwhile I sat beside her and slept with my mouth open for 20 minutes. When I woke up she feed me with mango iced tea and some donuts to keep me awake. We sat there for 3-5 hours and just talked. After 9 pm I took her to onion noodles and she really like that restaurant. I forgot that we also visit John Rabe's house.

Today I'm been in Jiming temple with Katy to pray for my sick grandmother.

Before we went to the temple we eat at a restaurant name "Les 5 Sense". A good restaurant and I will definitely eat there again. After the temple we visit SouthEast University because it's near the temple.
The same night I made friend with Katy I meet a german girl. Her name is Yogca(I think) and she study in SouthEast uni. That night Katy gave her number to Yogca but she think she gave Yogca the wrong number.
So Katy want to find her so we start ask a foreigner at the track field. Me and Katy thought Yogca was the chinese name and we told everyone that her name is Yogca, tall and was from german. He told us there's alot of german students in his uni, but he advice us to go to the dormitory for internationall students.
We asked alot of chinese students but they are like students in my school don't know where the foreigners live. There was a time where I want to stop looking for Yogca, I was thinking there is noway we can find her. But Katy on the other hand didn't want to quit here. I made a promise to her that we will find the building before we leave the uni. We found it and asked several of foreigners if they know Yogca. Again Katy didn't stop there she believed that we will some how find her.
Some guys from africa showed us to a dorm with a german flag on the door. I knocked and Pato open the door. We explained the whole situation and he knew Yogca. Yogca isn't her chinese name it's her "real" name. He followed us to her dorm and surprisly Yogca remember us. Well she remember me as "the swedish guy". I made friends with Pato(Mexican), Wendy(states) and Helena also from the states. They all can speak chinese and that made me want to learn chinese also. I was so happy when Wendy and Helena said that my english is pretty good because they talked really fast to me but I still could understand what they was talking about. They seems to be kind.

What have I learn form this? Don't give up to easy, fight for it even if there is a small chance.

David and Me

Wendy and I planned to meet Ashelll and her friend at Xuanwu lake park but Wendy didn't know the way so we was late to meet them. Ashell and her friend already left the place.
We eat at Pizzahut and I prefer Pizzahut in sweden more than the one in Nanjing.

Clubing in Ersu bar and Mazzo 2 with Wendy, David(a seller i talked about in previous blog post) and Duan Ting Ting. I think this is the 3-4 time i been there and tonight I realized that they always play the same tracks every night. I made friend with Dylan. He works there as a dancer.

Shopping with Ashell after that we played peel in 1912. I teach her how to play and she almost beat me so we stop play before she did that.
Talked to my family today. Saw my nephews and Alexander miss me. Kids grow up so fast.

I have the students card but can't get access to the library. Ashell used her card to let me in. Spent 1-2 hours in there. It was so quiet in there that I almost fell asleep.

Meet  up with Via to take her to "Honeymoon dessert" in Nanjing. We was like kids when we arrived. For people who doesn't follow my blog , I haven't seen via over 2 weeks now. To be honest I didn't enjoy the time with her. She tried to make me feel that I'm a bad person, useless and that everyone was better than me. She told me how her life been so good and that she meet other foreigners and been in Mazzo 2 with them. She even told me that my english is bad compare to her other foreigners friends. I asked her where they come from and she told me one was from Australia and the other from England. So of course their english has to be good and I never told her my english is good. I think she does these kind of things to make me jealous and also because she likes me. But I don't even care.

Got bad news from my father. He told me that my grandmother is sick and she's in the hospital. I love you Granny.

Had lunch at Jinling university and joined Katy in her class. While she listen to the teacher I was focusing on writing in my notebook.

Yesterday I came home at 4 am and have to wake up 9 am this morning to meet Katy to eat breakfast. During the breakfast I was so inpolite to Katy because at that time in sweden there was a party and my friends had some problems so I had to try to solve that. At 12 pm we went to climb the purple mountain. I can give you an advice. Don't climb the mountain when you have hangover, no rest and the weather is very hot. We didn't use the chair lift because Katy are afraid of that. It took us 3 hours to get up to the top and 2 hours to get down. I was so disappointed when we reached the top. I told you before that isn't often you see blue skies in Nanjing because of the dirty air. I didn't see so much from the top.

I got a text message from Nadia at 9 pm and she want me to go out with her and her friends. I went out by myself and was nervous because I don't know Nadia that well. What if she will do something. Everything went fine and I came home.

November 6 2010

The same thing as yesterday, same friend called me and made me miss the last chance to go to the sports meeting. There was something else about in our school for kids. Tango competition or something.

Tonight both my roomies went out together. Me, Pelle and Jin. We eat some mexican food and talked, went to play pool at 1912 and drink. After the pool competition we went to "Blue Marlin". Blue marlin played live music and most of the people in there was over 30, so we just sit ther and played drink games. After That I told Pelle to change place so we walked around and was looking for some good club. After at least 8 clubs we ended up in Mazzo 2.
I started to talk to a girl but Jin took advantage of that so he started to talk to her so I skipped that and talked to Pelle instead. I meet Nadia in there and she was really sad so I tried to make her happy.
Jin came to me and asked me to lend some money to treat the first girl I was talking to so I bought a bottle of beer to him so he can give it to her, when he gave her the bottle of beer they ended up not talking more. Poor guy. At the close time that girl saw me and tried to talked to me but I refused.

We couldn't find the restaurant and every chinese guy we asked they didn't know about that restaurant. I asked a guy from Arabia and he prefer to speak to Katy in chinese rather than speak english to me. I stood there with my mouth opened and looked at them speak to each other. It doesn't looks right to see a guy from Arabia speak Chinese. I was really nervous to go out with Katy because we couln't barely comminucate in castle bar so when Rabbit isn't here how can we understand each other? If she doesn't understand me I wrote it down in a book and also she use her dictionary sometimes. We called it her weapon. About the book, she didn't like the title so she want me to think of another one.

Spent to whole day to catch up with my diary/blog

I haven't talked about school so much since I came here, but this day I'm really happy becuase I solved alot of assignment the teacher gave me. I had supper at onion noodles in Deji Plaza and it taste great, it was also cheap and the place was fresh. 30 yuen for soup of noodles.

I want a halloween costume for tonight. Candy took me to a store in Fujimao(Confucius temple) the only thing I found was a mask. The costume I want to buy is hard to find. I have to wait to next year to wear it.
Me and Candy walked behind two guys at Fujimao and they was throwing their garbage on the road. I was thinking "What the fuck are they doing with China". I really want to beat them.

We meet an handsome seller in fashion lady and Candy really like him. He have a good education in Nanjing's best university and is a dancer. He's the owner of the store, his name is David. It was so fun to see Candy flirt with him.

Pelle and I was going out. When we took the taxi to a dutch restaurant Pelle sat besides the driver and tried to explain where we want to go, when they couldn't understand each other the taxi driver turn around and looked at me like "can you translate?" and I was like "no no no I'm not chinese, he know more chinese than I do."
The name of the restaurant is Secco, Do you guys know how happy I was to eat european food again? I order schnitzel and for drink I order Frozen strawberry daiquiri. The bar/restaurant had a pool table so we played the looser treat the other part a drink. Unexpected that I won so Pelle asked the owner if he could mix his own drinks. Pelle has work as a bartender for 8 years so he know what he's doing. He made flying grasshopper for me and it taste really good.

It didn't felt normal to see so many asian people have costume at castle bar. We meet Ellinor and Emelie there and also made some new friends. Katy, Rabbit and Samantha.
I talked to a germany girl who had a swedish friend name Yan Yan and when she mention that name I thought it was same friend I have back in Sweden, but it wasn't

Today the weather are picture perfect to take photos. I asked if Wendy hade time and she was free the whole day. We went out to take some photos but we didn't know any good place. We ended up in Xuanwu lake.

When I came back to my dorm Pelle has been drinking so he asked me if I want to go out tonight. I really want to join him but I already told Wendy that she could be with me and watch the photos we have been taking. But I said if she want to join us we all can go out together. She was to tired so we decided not to go out. Pelle got in a bad mood and went to his room. At 22.30 before I followed Wendy back to her dorm I told Pelle that we can go out to the club after I drop Wendy, I can tell that he was still in a bad mood so he refused.

On our way to Wendys dorm we meet a friend and she was upset on my. After I left Wendy I talked to her and it sounds like she's like me or something. This was my third time seeing this girl. She told me that she didn't want me as a friend anymore. We didn't had time to solve the problem because her dorm close at 11 pm.
I felt bad and called Zoe to go out with me. We talked about everything with beer in our hand and food on the table. Today I eat snail =)

I went to the international office after my classes because Zoe where going to take me to the playground for some practice. Actually Miss Wang(the "boss" of the international office) want me to take part in the sport meeting, she think I look like a guy who can do sports. I refused because I'm sick and I also don't want to embarrass in front of the whole school. At the playground we meet a group of chinese student who prepare for studies in Canada. As soon I talked all of them surrounded me in a circle. My Vietnamese friends was also there and they said to each other that they wish their english was good as mine because they also want to be surrounded by girls.

So freaking happy that I finally got my card to wash my clothes. Since I came to China I had to wash my clothes by hand. Waste of time. I meet Elisabeth and Neve today. Elisabeth study to be a social worker so she really know how to take care of others. She's friend of Zoe. Neve is Elisabeth's friend who study in Elisabeth's hometown. She's a shy girl but she said to me it felt good to hang out with me and she wasn't as shy as she used to be.

October 24 2010 Sunday

Woke up with hangover on the freaking floor with Freddie. He had an important class at 9 am. Spent my whole morning trying to recover from yesterday. Later on the afternoon Jessica invited me to a show at the building in fron of my apartment. It's a show for people who are intrested in music, dance and theater. I meet Xuhui and Zeng Yanting. Xuihui gave me a gift that night.

I woke up and felt better than I expected. I thought the alcohol would make my fever worse but it didn't. I checked with Freddie if he was available because last night there was two girls ask for Freddie. One of them was from korea and she want me to bring him to Mazzo 2 this night.
I needed an outfit for tonight so we went to downtown. I only found a jacket. I like it alot even though it's an autumn/spring jacket. After that we went to the hair saloon because I needed an haircut. This sounds like I'm a superstar or something but I usually do this in China.

Before we went to the club we had a small pre party. It was me Freddie and Wendy.
In Mazzo 2 for 400 yuen you get a bottle of Chivas, Red Label, Vodka or Jack Daniels with a plate of fruits and also 4 soft drinks to mix with the liquor. Most of the time we didn't mix the liquor with the soft drinks. I was dancing at our table when I saw a man to the right of my side. I started to talk to him and he told me that he is a french man. At that time I was so wasted that the only meaning I know in french was "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir"(means "Do you want to have sex with me?") after I said that he thought I was gay so he back off. It was so embarrassing but I explained to him and he introduced his co-workers to me.

October 22 2010 Friday

I have been sick for one week now and I talked to Ka Thanh Trinh. Thanks to facetime. He told me that it's friday so I should go out and party. I asked my friends to see who's available and Ada want to hang out with me. We went to 3 coffee in Shanghai Lu and the enviroment was awesome. It felt very cozy almost like home. Too bad the place closed at midnight so we only had time for one cocktails. I didn't want to go back so I let her choose between go to the club or eat. She choosed to go to Mazzo 2. In there we meet Freddie's friend Eleven and Eleven's friends. Agaqin I really like the place.

Thursday
Some writer come to Nanjing and the queue to see him reminds me of the queue in the expo. I didn't care so much about him because I don't know who he is.

We had total four days in Shanghai and two of them was dedicaded to the expo. For the other two days we want to go and shopping. Via have a best friend who study in Shanghai. Her name is Gun(pronounce Guan) and she company us. At first she was very shy but after that she opened up. She are really funny and cute. It didn't felt good when we had to seperate on our last day, but it's okey because she said that next time I'm in Shanghai she will make me company.

Depends on where you go, the price is diffrent. The first day we went to a place like fashion lady in Nanjing. They had some good shop but the price was a little bit higher than fashion lady and almost same as back home in Sweden. Remember thiis was my first day in Shanghai so I didn't want ot make a "impuls köp". Gun took us to another place and it was really cheap there. The price there was like fashion lady divided to 3.

I felt in love with a bag and was thinking in my mind that I have to buy that one no matter what. I was thinking that the price of the bag has to be around 200 yuen. I was willing to pay 130 yuen for it. I asked the seller how much and he told me 60 yuen. IN my mind I was laughing but I didn't show any expressions. I want to train my bargain skills so I told the seller that I only want to pay 40 yuen. He didn't agree so I walked slowly from the shop. The reason why I walked slowly is to let the seller have time to think about it and call us back, but he didn't. So I had to go back and I said 50 yuen and I was surprised that he agree to sell the bag for 50 yuen. Finally I found a perfect bag for maybe my future macbook air. I also saw same bag I bought in Nanjing for 200 yuen, but here they sold it for 60 fucking yuen. I decided not to buy so many clothes in Nanjing anymore and save it to Shanghai.

For the first time since I came to China I found a place to eat dim sum(well I know a place in Nanjing, but im to lazy to get up early to have it). Dim sum is a cantonese dish so my chinese friends didn't understand when I told them that I want to eat dim sum. It was delicious but I made a mistake by order to many "ha cao". If you guys come to China someday you should try Honeymoon dessert it's really good.

Innjoy Youth Hostel
Located in ZhaoShan Road 394, near the subway station called Linping Road.
It takes 5 minutes to wal. When we checked in at 6 pm there wasn't no one of the guest there, but when we came back at night I meet alot of foreigners. I was surprised that so many foreigners where living here, because the hostel was just so so(means okej in chinese). Every night we came back to the hostel there was always some new visitors, but not in one bed. Jamesons bed. I meet Jameson the first night at the hostel. He was sitting in the lobby with Kyle and Charles. They was drinking beer and talked. Jameson and Kyle are both from Philidelphia and work as teachers in Shanghai. Charles on the other hand was from Canada and just travel around China.

One morning When I woke up I saw two girls on the opposite side of my bed. At first I thought they where chinese but when I heard them speal I knew they was from Korea. Their name was Joey and Pinpin(I think) and we started to talk about famous korean starts, such as Big Bang. They both stiudy in Hangzhou, China. Joey is a type of girl that like to party so we exchange number. At that time Jameson woke up and I introduce them to each other. It was so funny when Joey asked Jameson where he lives in China.

Joey: Where do you live?
Jameson: Here
Joey: Oh, so you live here in Shanghai?
Jameson: Yeah, here in this bed
Joey didn't understand what Jameson talked about so she asked him again.
Jameson: Yes, I live here in this hostel. This bed

Everyone included Jameson was laughing. Jameson life style is drink in the night and teach English to chinese student in daytime.
I meet alot of foreigner and talked to them and everyone was very friendly, but I got some time limit everytime.
Me and Via was tired after our first expo day, but I couldn't sleep because my camera memoery was full. So I went down to the lobby by myself and try to find someone with a computer so I can transfer all the picture from the camera into my usb. I meet Charles, Marc and two bulgarian girls down the lobby and we started to talk. After awhile Vie came down and was sitting behind me with her head on my back. I told her that if she sleey she can go upstairs and sleep first, but she refused. After 5 min she felt asleep and again I told her the same thing. After awhile she started to do the same thing again and the other was looking at her and wonder why she's not going upstairs and sleep. Even I don't know was she was thinking at that time. Did she want me to company to go to sleep with her? We don't even sleep on the same bed.

Anyway the hostel was okey to live in. The price for one person was 60 yuen/night and for me it was okey. I don't spend my days in the hostel, I just need some roof over the head and then I'm happy. That hostel was perfect to meet new friends, I meet alot when I spent my time there, even got to know two swedish girls.

Shanghai part 1

One way ticket from Nanjing to Shanghai cost around 150 yen with the express train and it takes around 1 hour. I like the seat in the express train , it's comfortable and have a lot of space. The best thing about the seat is that you can decide if you want to sit the same direction as the train is moving or backwards. See how it works in this video here.

Me and Via went to the train station the day before departure to buy ticket to Shanghai. I don't know what she was thinking but she manage to buy four ticket to Shanghai and none back to Nanjing. At that time I wasn't mad at her because people make mistakes and I know that somehow we can fix the problem. I was in bad mood when she talk to the receptionist and didn't explain to me about the situation even tho I asked her. The thing is when we arrived to Shanghai I told her that we can solve the problem by changing the date because the receptionist told her we can't change destination. So we asked a security guard in Shanghai and he told us that we can return the ticket and get the money back to buy new tickets, but there was another problem. You have to do it in the city you bought the ticket. So she send the tickets to her friend in Nanjing to return the tickets. We could have solve it in the beginning if she just told me whats going on when she talked to the receptionist.
I know she just want to take care of everything and let me enjoy the trip, but I want to be apart of this and also take responsibility. After we fixed the ticket we went to our hostel. I have to tell you that it took time to find a place to stay at because of the expo. Most of the hotel didn't have room available and some hotel/hostel you have to be a chinese native to live there.
